I don’t think the Giants have the magic this season. This preseason was ugly. Poor performances from the starters as well as plenty of injuries point to a tough year for the Giants. The Giants have plenty of talent. That being said the Giants talent isn’t evenly spread throughout the team but clustered mostly in the passing game. If Manning and company aren’t perfect and the offense doesn’t put up big time points, the Giants aren’t winning a lot of games.
I see the Giants as a 7-9 team. I think it will be very similar to the last two seasons because though there are some new faces, nothing has really changed in Giants Nation. The Giants don’t have a dominant defense. They have a defense with question marks in all three levels of the unit. They have a questionable offensive line and by the looks of it Marshall Newhouse and Justin Pugh are struggling at right tackle and left guard respectively.
The Giants just don’t look good going into the season. I can’t lie and tell you what you want to hear. This isn’t a Super Bowl caliber team and it would be a surprise if the team makes the playoffs. There are plenty of reasons to hope the Giants can do well. The problem is there are more reasons to be concerned.
The Giants will go 7-9.
