The Giants don’t look great in the second level of their defense. They have an injury prone middle linebacker in Jon Beason. They have an unproven (although promising) J.T. Thomas. A flashy Devon Kennard. A player in Mark Herzlich who hasn’t played well so far in his Giants career and a special teams player at best in Johnathan Casillas.

‘Unga was impressive in the preseason but is yet to be seen what kind of player he will be when it counts. The Giants don’t have a really good option behind Beason which makes the cutting of Jameel McClain worrisome. The Giants gave up an awful 4.9 yards on the ground last year. I love what Kennard brings to the table and am excited about Thomas but this linebacker group is highly suspect.
