Best Case Scenario Part 2: Protecting The Football

One of the biggest trends in games against the Cowboys has been Giants turnovers. The Giants have to protect the possession of the football. They cannot give the Cowboys extra opportunities and short fields that puts the defense in bad positions. The Giants must play turnover free football if they are going to win.

The Giants have to do everything they can to take pressure off of the defense. They have to put points on the scoreboard and they need to win the time of possession battle. The less chances Tony Romo and company get, the better chances are that the Giants will win the game. That’s why the key to this game is offensive efficiency and above all else ball security. That means no Manning interceptions and no fumbles.

The Giants third down efficiency is going to be huge as well. They need to sustain these long drives in order to control the game with their offense. Look for Manning to utilize the skill set of Odell Beckham Jr., Shane Vereen and Larry Donnell on third down situations.
