Best Case Scenario Part 3: Getting After Romo

The Giants defense needs to cover its faults with relentless pass rush to beat the Cowboys. The Giants have to get the Cowboys in passing situations and they need to capitalize on their one defensive strength, great pass rush in these situations. The Giants secondary is just as concerning as the Cowboys’ so they need to rush the passer, if we give Romo time he will shred the Giants defense.

The Giants have a bevy of pass rushers on their roster that will make an impact on this game. Robert Ayers, Damontre Moore and Owa Odighizuwa all figure to provide good rush off the edge. Johnathan Hankins is going to push the pocket back from the defensive tackle position. When you get pressure on Romo that’s when he makes his mistakes. The Giants have to rattle, fluster and dominate Romo.

If the Giants can get good pass rush they can possibly cause an interception or two. Drives are killed by sacks. Pass rush leads to sacks, interceptions and quarterback fumbles. Turnovers kill games. If the Giants can create extra opportunities for their offense with their defensive attack mode, than the Giants have a good shot in this game.
