Uani Unga

Jon Beason, true to form, is out with an injury so first year linebacker Uani Unga will take his place in the starting lineup.

Unga, an undrafted free agent who was on the practice squad last season, will be starting at middle linebacker.

He played exceptionally well in the preseason, totaling no less then 6 tackles in all three of the pre-season games he appeared in. He showed instinct and a real motor. He was diving all over the field to make plays. He broke up passes, penetrated the backfield, and flew to the football to make tackles whenever he was on the field.

Unga will be in for a challenge though as veteran quarterback Tony Romo will likely be playing mind games with the rookie. Unga has great speed and could make a real difference in run support. The Giants are counting on him to play a very important position. If he plays well on Sunday he could prove to be an excellent pickup and great insurance for starting middle linebacker Jon Beason. Beason can never seem to stay healthy so Unga will be relied on heavily this year if he can show his value.

For the Giants to be victorious on Sunday the untested Unga must played well in a key position.
