3. Slow Start For Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants failed to get Odell Beckham Jr. going in this game. He only had 5 receptions for 44 yards. None of the Giants receiving threats really shined however as Shane Vereen was the leading receiver with 46 yards. The Cowboys were certainly ready for Beckham Jr. and they took him away on several big plays.

The Giants needed to be carried by their offense to win this game. The defense did surprisingly well in the first half, but again the Cowboys were awfully generous hosts. Without Victor Cruz in the lineup I’m not sure the Giants will win a lot of games in which Beckham Jr. doesn’t get the football a lot and get a lot on each play.

Last season Beckham Jr. had one of his best games against the Cowboys. He had 10 receptions for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns in his last battle with the Cowboys. The Giants couldn’t throttle the Cowboys secondary like we all envisioned them doing. It was a rough start for Manning and it was a rough start for Beckham Jr. as well.
