3. The Running Game Is Key For A Playoff Run
That’s right, you can start talking about the New York Giants and the playoffs in the same sentence. However, that is only if the running game continues to be as successful as it was against Dallas.
Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen proved to be a very formidable duo. Vereen was very effective coming out of the backfield and being the pass catching running back. When the offensive line started to click, Jennings made it worth the Giants’ while. When the Giants pass offense couldn’t be counted on it was up to Jennings to make up for it.
Both players are essential if the Giants are going to be competitive in the NFC East. If the Giants could learn one thing from the Cowboys, it’s that an effective running game could easily lead a team to a winning record.
The Giants main concern is Jennings health. If there is one thing that we all are worried about, it’s the Giants’ luck when it comes to injuries. Jennings is an older running back and he tends to be injury prone because of it. When the Giants lost Jennings last year they dropped seven games straight.
