2. Their Running Game Has Potential
The Giants’ running game needs to get going on a consistent basis. It looked pretty good on the last drive against the Cowboys. The offensive line came together and finally has some chemistry. They gave Rashad Jennings room to run and grinds out yards without an issue.
That exact same thing needs to happen in week two and every week after that. Running the ball is essential to a balanced offense. Whenever the Giants leave all the pressure on the passing game, that’s when the turnovers happen.
Manning tries to force the ball down the field when he doesn’t have a running game to take the pressure off him. That especially gets worse when his offensive line can’t hold up on occasion.
There is no question that Manning can throw the ball, but there is a time and place for it. Certain situations can’t be forced in the NFL and it’s up to the quarterback to decide that. One of Manning’s weaknesses is his decision making and a decent running game can fix that.
