The New York Giants square off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. This matchup is crucial in determining who may win the NFC East at the end of the season. Even though the Giants are currently atop their division another loss could put them right back at square one, especially to a divisional team.
Chip Kelly somehow managed to pump some life into his team and finally started to pull out some wins. Sam Bradford is starting to seem more comfortable in the Eagles’ offense and found his rhythm. In week five, DeMarco Murray also got back on track as well, rushing for 83 yards and one touchdown. So the Eagles have some momentum coming into this game.
The Giants should not be too concerned with the Eagles’ run game. Steve Spagnuolo will take care of that without an issue. The Giants boast one of the best-run defenses in the league, but that comes at a price. They are ranked as one of the worst passing defenses in the league.
The Eagles wide receivers are playmakers especially with Bradford at the helm. He has a cannon for an arm and is very dangerous when he’s at his best. Bradford has the potential to be a great quarterback, but he is too inconsistent. He shows flashes of brilliance and will ruin it by throwing a couple of interceptions after.
Despite all the injuries, the Giants have one advantage over the Eagles and that’s consistency. They have a balanced offense and are able to run the ball and pass efficiently. A huge part of that is the new version of Eli Manning, who is taking care of the football.
The Eagles usually have the Giants’ number, but I expect Big Blue to pull out a win. Manning will have another strong outing and pass for over 200 yards and throwing at least two touchdowns. Murray will struggle and force the Eagles to pass, having no choice but to rest the game on Bradford’s shoulders, which will lead to an Eagles loss.
The Giants and Eagles are known for having insanely close games and the same should be expected of tonight’s event.
