Greg Hardy vs. Ereck Flowers
Here we go. The Cowboys have their best pass rusher back and he gets the opportunity to go up against a rookie. Hardy looked locked and loaded against New England, and there’s no reason he won’t bring that same motor coming off a bye. Flowers has had his fair share of struggles his rookie season, but over his last few games he has started to improve—minus the Philadelphia performance where most of the line looked a bit lethargic. For a raw rookie deemed not ready to start on Draft day, Flowers has held his own.
The question will be two-fold for Flowers: will he be able to keep Eli on his feet, and will he be able open up lanes on the left side of the line for Jennings, Williams, and Vereen. The Giants’ running back corps is a decent unit that will run through what’s blocked for them. In the case of Hardy, he’s athletic enough to stop the run. It’ll be Flowers’ job to secure that edge and stop him.
