4. The Running Backs Have Been Good Receiving Threats

While the impact of the Giants running game has been minimal, the Giants running backs have contributed in different ways. In terms of pass protection and especially as receivers out of the backfield they have had a huge impact on this team. You knew this was the direction the offense was going to head in when they signed Shane Vereen in the offseason.

Vereen has been active in the offense. With 36 receptions (three fewer than Rueben Randle) he has the third most receptions on this team. Yes a running back has more receptions than Larry Donnell. Vereen has 321 yards and three touchdowns this season as a receiving back.

Jennings has also had a decent year in this capacity. Jennings has 19 receptions for 174 yards and a touchdown. These receiving yards from their running backs add up and make up for the less than amazing play of Donnell and Randle.
