New York Giants Sign Former Star WR Hakeem Nicks

Super Bowl hero Hakeem Nicks found his way back into becoming a member of the New York Giants. The Giants opted to make this signing in the wake of a season ending injury to Victor Cruz.

Could Nicks somehow find his old form and revive his career with the Giants for a second time?

Nicks should fit right into the Ben McAdoo’s offense. He could become another deep threat aside from Odell Beckham. The Giants needed a signing like this to push them to close out the mediocre NFC East. They really could use this extra firepower considering that Tony Romo is coming back next week as well.

The race to close out the NFC East has begun and the Giants are leading the charge. The question is will they stumble on their way out? The addition of Nicks definitely makes that hard to do.

Even if Nicks doesn’t produce much he will just serve as another distraction for opposing defenses. They already have to worry about Beckham and even Dwayne Harris. Adding Nicks into the mix will just confuse them more. Teams know what Nicks was capable of the last time he wore Giants’ blue.

It is highly unlikely he makes an immediate impact, but by the way things look it could be possible. Nicks has a whole extra week to get acclimated to McAdoo’s offense. Then after the bye week, the Giants have a juicy matchup against the Washington Redskins’ secondary.

Nicks has a very big opportunity ahead of him with Cruz’s career in jeopardy. He could be a Giant for the rest of his career is he plays his cards right.
