It’s bye week. In some ways, it’s refreshing for fans to take a break. The NFL season moves quick, but it zigs, then zags, and it can also really wear on fans, especially if your team has a game where they’ve blown a fourth quarter lead when they should’ve won. Or maybe they’ve done it twice, or four times, or something…
Bye weeks are interesting when they come later in the season, such as in the case of the Giants. More’s at stake with each passing week in the NFL, and there’s certainly a lot at stake in Week 11. Three NFC East teams are in action, the NFC Wild Card is taking shape, and of course there’s always the possibility (but not hope) for season-changing injuries.
Teams can take active steps to improve their season during their bye week. The Giants are in the midst of the playoff hunt as they take their bye, so there’s a lot of things they could do to improve their team during this time.
I think there are five things that could happen during this bye to subtly improve their chances of clinching or not clinching a playoff spot over their final six games. I listed those ways here.
