Injured Players Get Some Rest
This is where teams generally benefit the most from bye’s. Prince Amukamara says he’ll be ready after the bye, and the Giants could expect Larry Donnell back—though with the way Will Tye’s been playing I wonder how much Donnell will contribute… but that’s another story. And, others dealing with nicks and bruises will get a little extra rest.
But with guys like Uani’ Unga and J.T. Thomas banged up, Justin Pugh was a little ill before last week’s game, things like that—just getting some general rest for the team will be good for them as they come out of the bye. They’ll need all the roster depth they can get over the final six weeks of the season, so the bye comes at a nice time for them to heal up.
