Every NFC East Team Can Lose

Nice thought, huh?

Of course, this is out of the Giants’ control, but it wouldn’t hurt. Dallas is in a hole that at this point seems too deep to climb out of, but a loss would pretty much bury them if they aren’t done already.

But this week could really shape the division for the Giants. Wins by Washington and Philadelphia spell a three-way tie atop the NFC East—a very different scenario than if the Giants were to break out of their bye competing with two teams with 4-6 records.

The Giants face Washington first game out of the bye, and two straight losses for the Redskins will put their season in real jeopardy. As for the Eagles… it’s tough to tell because they have enough talent and a defense to stay in it, but it’s the injuries on offense, particularly at the quarterback position, that could cost them a game or two. And the Giants face the Eagles in the season finale—to probably not many people’s surprise, that game could very well determine the division winner.
