Geoff Schwartz Suffers Injury In Nightmare Start For Giants

There isn’t a thing going the Giants way today. The first half has been a terror for the Giants with a blocked field goal being the only real highlight for the Giants. The first half was also costly for the Giants already shuffled offensive line. According to reports Geoff Schwartz suffered a fractured lower leg injury today against the Redskins.

The injury forced the Giants to put rookie offensive guard, Bobby Hart in the game. The offensive line was already shuffled up. The Giants were playing without Weston Richburg and Justin Pugh. Dallas Reynolds and John Jerry were starting instead. Now the Giants will be without Schwartz as well.

This should mean the end of Geoff Schwartz’s season which is as daunting for the Giants as their 17 point deficit. The Giants came into this game with a chance to take a big two game advantage in the division. Now as halftime approaches they face potentially squandering that opportunity and playing the rest of the season without the leader of their offensive line.

Last season the offensive line was a horrendous problem area for the Giants and the absence of Geoff Schwartz played a big part in that. Win or lose today, the Giants are right in the thick of things for the NFC East crown. This will make the race for a division championship more difficult for the Giants.
