Jasper Brinkley, ILB (30)

2015 Cap Hit: $585,000

Jasper stepped up and filled in when the linebacking corps was the walking dead. I think he’ll be exceptional insurance or take on a larger role in ’16.

RE-SIGN

Hakeem Nicks, WR (27)

2015 Cap Hit: $240k+

The master of the 5-yard reception. With Cruz back, I see Hakeem continuing to contribute on spread formations, hopefully instilling Eli with more confidence to throw his way. You can’t argue with Nicks’ mitts.

RE-SIGN

Danny Aiken, LS (27)

2015 Cap Hit: $137k+

With DeOssie coming back, Aiken will be out of a job.

LET HIM GO

Barry Cofield, DT (31)

2015 Cap Hit: $103k+

It’s nice to have a familiar face who can be part of the rotation and serve as a mentor to the younger guys, especially at such an affordable price tag.

RE-SIGN

Brandon Meriweather, SS (31)

2015 Cap Hit: $102k+

Meriweather was always good for a solid thump or two, delivering knockout blows that I’ve rarely if ever seen from a Giants D since 2011. But, he would often get lost in coverage or was central to confusion and mix-ups.
