New York Giants 2016 Free Agents: Who Stays, Who Goes?
By Neal Lynch
Restricted Free Agents:
These players receive qualifying offers from the (Giants) and are free to negotiate with any club until a deadline (week prior to the NFL Draft), at which time their rights revert to their original club. If a player accepts an offer from a new club, the Giants will have the right to match the offer and retain the player. If the Giants elect not to match the offer, they may receive draft-choice compensation depending on the level of the qualifying offer made to the player.
Larry Donnell, TE (27)
2015 Cap Hit: $585,000
Donnell had a coming out party in 2014, but only played half of 2015. Dropped balls and fumbles mean the Giants might not bring him back, especially with the emergence of Will Tye. But, with Daniel Fells gone and Jerome Cunningham unable to step up, it’s possible Big Blue matches offers from other teams.
