Taylor Decker

OT, Ohio State Buckeyes

Date of Birth: August 23, 1994 (age 21)
Height: 6′ 7″
Weight: 315 lbs

  • College All-American (2015)

NFL.com listed Taylor as one of the top senior offensive linemen the Giants might be interested in.

Scooby Wright

LB, Arizona Wildcats

Height: 6 feet 1 inch

Weight: 245 pounds

The Big Lead projected Scooby going to the Vikings late in the first round while Bleacher Report has the Packers landing him. Fox Sports thought the Giants should keep a close eye on Wright.

Jonathan Bullard

DL, Florida Gators

Date of birth c. 1994 (age 21–22)
Height: 6 feet 3 inches
Weight: 283 pounds

  • College All-American (2015)
  • 66 combined tackles (17.5 for loss, 3rd most in SEC), 6.5 sacks in 2015

Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com thinks the Giants will pick Bullard in the 2nd Round. Acording to the Pride of Detroit, Bullard has an “elite first step” with “unparalleled quickness” and will perform best as a one-gap shooting DT in the 3-technique.

Football Insiders listed Bullard as “one of the most underrated prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft“.

Devontae Booker

RB, Utah Utes

Date of birth: May 27, 1992 (age 23)
Height: 5 feet 11 inches
Weight: 212 pounds

  • Two-time All-Pac-12 selection (first team in 2014 and second team in 2015)
  • Fast, powerful back is also an excellent pass catcher and blocker
  • One of just two players ever at Utah to record back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons
  • One of three players to accomplish two 1,000-yard seasons over his Utah career
  • Set Utah school record with 120.6 career rushing average
  • Tied the school record with 14 100-yard rushing games
  • Ranks third in net rushing yards (2,773), fourth with 560 career carries and sixth with 23 rushing touchdowns

Devontae is one of the top 5 prospects at running back in the 2016 draft. NFL.com thinks the Giants might scoop him up the 2nd or 3rd Round, but I’m not sure why. Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams, and Shane Vereen are all signed through 2018. Orleans Darkwa is a restricted free agent this offseason, so if he departs the Giants should get compensation. There are plenty of other positions that need depth (safety, linebacker, wide receiver, defensive line, offensive line, secondary), so to draft a running back this early seems like a waste to me.

Darian Thompson

FS, Boise State Broncos

Height: 6 feet 2 inches

Weight: 210 pounds

  • Jim Thorpe Award Semifinalist (2015)
  • FWAA All-America Second Team (2015)
  • PhilSteele.com All-America Second Team (2015)
  • Associated Press All-America Third Team (2015)
  • Sports Illustrated All-America Honorable Mention (2015)
  • CBSSports.com All-America Second Team (2014)
  • 2x All-Mountain West First Team (2014-15)
  • Mountain West’s all-time interceptions leader (19), passing Eric Weddle
  • Led Broncos with 5 interceptions
  • Second on team with 65 tackles (37 solo)
  • Tied for second on the team with 8.5 tackles-for-loss and two forced fumbles

DraftTek.com thinks the Bronco will be a Giant in the 2nd Round. Why pay Eric Weddle eight figures a year when you can get Weddle 2.0 for a fraction of the price?
