Giants To Wear Color Rush Uniforms in 2016? I Love It!

The NFL decided to experiment with alternate versions of team uniforms on Thursday Night Football that the league called, “Color Rush”. And pretty much everyone hated them. Except me. I love it. A recent post in the forums of Big Blue Interactive suggested that the Giants might be playing on Thursday Night Football and will be one of the “Color Rush” games. And despite the overwhelmingly negative reviews, I love it.

I’m all for experimenting with uniforms. For as long as I can remember, I can’t understand why people would call a woman with an attractive body and a not-so-attractive face a “Bengal”. That would insinuate that the Cincinnati Bengals helmet is ugly, which is upside down and inside out. The Bengals helmet is probably the best lid in all of sports.

  • The Rams helmets are cool, the Eagles – despite every fiber of my being wanting to sneeze on them – have cool helmets. I love the Steelers throwback bumble bee uniforms along with the Packers blue and 50 shades of mustard yellow.

The Giants are not prone to experiment with their uniforms. They tried out the red jersey back in 2004 and 2005 to poor results on the field and mixed feelings from the fans. Occasionally, Big Blue wears white pants for some home games. Giants faithful would love to see the G-Men break out the throwbacks from the ’80s with “GIANTS” on the helmet. That right there would be guaranteed millions in merchandise sales and the timing would be perfect – 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the Super Bowl XX1 team!

Remember the hoax about Nike’s supposed new alternate uniforms for each team?

    Not THAT bad, right?

But, Color Rush? Those two words are like garlic to a vampire, kryptonite to Superman. Fans hiss. I say why not? If the Giants are forced to pelt thine eyes with color, some have suggested white on white a la the Dallas Cowboys last season against the Carolina Panthers. Others believe the right move is to go blue on blue while many fear that dreaded red on red.

Whatever the combination, the 2016 Giants will make themselves look good with a division title and a run at Super Bowl 51.
