The New York Giants saw four of their own fill out rosters for the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl in a televised draft special on Wednesday night. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., quarterback Eli Manning and kicker Josh Brown serve the team built by celebrity captain Jerry Rice, while cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is left abandoned on former superstar Michael Irvin’s squad.

The Pro Bowl degenerated into a joke in the public’s mind over the years thanks to poor display of defense and stakes, lack of players’ willingness to participate and spastically confusing rules and format changes.

  • Then again, the event is an Academy Award for Best Picture nomination compared to the misfortunes of New York’s 6-10 campaign, so everyone involved will assuredly hope to end the season on a high.

With the dose of friendly competition this weekend does call for, which Giants player is prime to represent their team most spectacularly on Sunday? Who truly came out on top once the results were arbitrarily cemented on the board? Who best manipulated the spotlight in between the Pearl Harbor documentaries unevenly acclaimed alongside the retirees’ awkward self-righteousness?

Beckham Jr. influenced a decent handful of the draft’s proceedings as player-captain and personified highlight reel. Manning, meanwhile, remains leader and face of the franchise. DRC and Brown are simply grateful to be on vacation but qualify for “unsung hero” honors all the same.

Allow this undying beast named Pro Bowl to be fed midnight after midnight. The alternative is Vanessa Hudgens.
