Running Back: Cory Harkey

Contrary to Jerry Reese doing his best LeBron James in cryptically blaming the backfield for New York’s dismay, RB should be nowhere close to the radar early in free agency. Even if Andre Williams finds himself as the odd man out, there’s a multi-headed monster of backs that can simply benefit from more astute play-calling and a retooled offensive line.

Plus, no one that buys their mother a house should be shown up mere days later by a challenging replacement.

“We’ll continue to look in the draft, look in free agency, but we think we have four capable guys.” – GM Jerry Reese on his RBs after the NFL Combine

Still, McAdoo could be deemed a genius by reinstating the wrinkle of a versatile fullback.

Admittedly, Mike Tolbert was pegged here before his two-year contract extension with the Carolina Panthers came to fruition earlier Wednesday morning. Even so, the Rams’ halfback-tight end hybrid can assume identical contribution. Both are underrated as red-zone receiving threats while lining up prominent rushing attacks, and Harkey comes equipped with less tread.

Los Angles will be looking to renew in-house, as well. Moreover incumbent and former nose tackle Nikita Whitlock is a subtle favorite in the locker room despite never touching the ball before reaching injured reserve late in 2015.

Harkey’s skill set is just more dynamic and enticing. It’s tax return season. Live a little.
