James Jones – WR, Green Bay Packers

Age: 32 (on 3/31)

The one that got away. Many Giants fans still cringe thinking about what could’ve been had the team held on to Jones instead of Preston Parker. Parker rewarded the G-Men with multiple drops that lead to his release while Jones snagged 50 balls for 890 yards and 8 touchdowns. Would Jones even consider coming back to the squad that let him go before the regular season? Would he add an a-hole tax to his asking price?

WalterFootball.com ranked James as the 19th best free agent wideout.

Jones stated he wanted to return to Green Bay, but Ken Korb of Lombardi Avenue thinks the Packers would be wise to let Jones walk. They were able to get Jones for one year for less than $1 million, some of which was paid by Oakland and the Giants. Spotrac gave James a true value rating of 71.75, which placed him 32nd among wide receivers who took at least 25% of their unit’s snaps in 2015. Jones was on the field for more than 91% of offensive plays.
