Collins appeared to be on the outs as a 27-year-old former first round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers before signing with the Giants before the 1999 season. Kerry would go on to play in 71 games, starting 68 while throwing for almost 17,000 yards and 80+ touchdowns in five years. He also orchestrated 14 fourth quarter comebacks and 17 game winning drives during his tenure and was also the NFC Offensive Player of the Week four times. The 5 comeback wins in 2002 was tops in the NFL. His best seasons came in 2000 and 2002, when he lead Big Blue to a Super Bowl and Wild Card respectively. His performance in the NFC Championship is arguably the best by a quarterback in league history.
