In 1971, Tucker was second in the NFL in receptions among all receivers and first among tight ends. He was also ninth league-wide in receiving yards and fourth in receiving yards per game. The following season, Tucker was fifth in total receptions and 8th in receiving yards and receiving yards per game. In 1973, Tucker was seventh overall in total receptions.

He’d go on to catch more passes than any other tight end in the ’70s and is the most productive tight end to never make the Pro Bowl.
