Each time the NFL Draft rolls around, we’re reminded of just how uncertain the process can be. The New York Giants draft history – just like any other team’s – has been marked with booms and busts, bulls and bears, Hall of Famers, no-namers, and gritty gamers in each and every round.

Previously, we looked at the Giants’ top 10 first round draft picks of all-time. Now, we’ve combed the second round of every NFL Draft dating back to 1936 to present the Giants top picks from that turn. Before we get to that, there are some honorable mentions…

HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Jumbo Elliott (1988) – The University of Michigan tackle played in 112 games over eight seasons with the Giants, having monster years in 1991, 1992, and a Pro Bowl in 1993.

Erik Howard (1986) – The Washington State nose tackle played in 122 games over nine seasons for Big Blue, with one trip to the Pro Bowl coming in 1990.
Joe Morris (1982) – The Syracuse running back was a 2-time Pro Bowler (1985, 1986) and 1-time First-Team All-Pro (1986) who played in 94 games for the Giants in seven years, rushing for 5,296 yards and 48 touchdowns. His 21 touchdowns in 1985 were a league high (6th all-time) and still are a franchise high.

Jason Sehorn (1994) – The USC cornerback played in 107 games over eight seasons for the G-Men, racking up 359 solo tackles, 5.5 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, 16 passes defended and 19 interceptions, four of which he scored on.

Phillippi Sparks (1992) – The Arizona State d-back played in 99 games over eight seasons for the Giants, picking off 22 passes and notching 393 solo tackles.
