The New York Giants have addressed most of their defensive woes from 2015 by spending big to bring in high profile free agents in 2016. But, despite some interesting free agent options, it looks like Big Blue might find their next starting free safety to line up alongside Landon Collins in the upcoming NFL Draft.

What should the Giants do at safety? That’s been the question ever since Antrel Rolle signed with the Chicago Bears. Some, like Giants co-owner John Mara, think the starter is already on the roster, with the favorite among them being Nat Berhe. However, after witnessing the barrage of injuries that decimated the potential starters last preseason, many Giants fans are hoping the team can draft another rookie of the year candidate like Landon Collins or, at the very least, pick up some insurance for when the bodies starting hitting IR.

Unless the G-Men pull off a huge trade up to the top 5 to get Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey, it looks like they’ll nab a safety in the second round or later. After reviewing the NFL Scouting Combine grades and analysis from Lance Zierlein and WalterFootball’s rankings, I’ve listed the the top eight free safeties that should be available for the Giants to select. Before we get to that rundown, here are a couple prospects that could be on the radar, but would need further inspection:

James Bradberry, Samford – Height: 6-0 | Weight: 211 |Projected Round: 3-4

Justin Simmons, Boston College – Height: 6-2. Weight: 202 | Projected Round: 6-7

Okay, on to the list…
