2016 Cap Hit: $840,000

Bobby Rainey just recently signed a 1 year contract with the Giants, including a $40,000 signing bonus, and an average annual salary of $840,000. In 2016, Rainey will earn a base salary of $760,000, a roster bonus of $20,000 and a workout bonus of $20,000. Rainey has a cap hit of $840,000 while his dead money value is $40,000.

This free agent signing was one of the more perplexing moves by Big Blue. The Giants already had four running backs under contract and if there were a new running back to bring into the mix, one would think it would come via the draft. Rainey is now the second oldest halfback behind Rashad Jennings. Even with the rash of injuries sustained a couple seasons ago, one has to think a trade could be in the works.
