Drafted by the New York Giants in the 4th round (105th overall) of the 1976 NFL Draft, a handful of picks before the Houston Oilers selected Tulane wide receiver Steve Largent and the Dallas Cowboys picked Penn State offensive lineman Tom Rafferty.
Carson’s career AV of 91 was third highest among players taken in the ’76 draft while that number is the highest accumulated for the team drafted. Harry was tied for the most Pro Bowls among ’76 draftees with New England Patriots defensive back Mike Haynes.
Harry’s approximate value of 119 for the Giants is third highest among Giants defenders. Carson’s 14 fumble recoveries are tied for 7th most in franchise history with Keith Hamilton.
