9. Clyde Powers – SS, Oklahoma Sooners (1974)

Drafted by the New York Giants in the 5th round (119th overall) of the 1974 NFL Draft, a handful of picks before the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Wisconsin center and Hall of Famer Mike Webster.

In 33 games played at Oklahoma, Powers had 68 combined tackles and five interceptions (two of which he returned for touchdowns), plus three forced fumbles.

Powers started 45 of 56 games with Big Blue, picking off five passes and recovering three fumbles. Clyde’s three interceptions in 1975 tied for second most on the team with linebackers Brian Kelley and Brad Van Pelt.

Powers went on to be the Indianapolis Colts Director Of Player Personnel and a Pro Scout for the Carolina Panthers.
