1. Week 2: New Orleans Saints at Giants, 9/18/16

Last season, when the Giants and Saints matched up, Eli Manning and Drew Brees put on an absolute show. Brees had seven touchdown passes, Manning had six. Odell Beckham, Jr had three touchdown catches. The Giants battled back from down 14 points twice and even took the lead only to have the defense and special teams collectively blow it. The Saints won on a field goal, 52-49, after a fifteen yard face mask by punter Brad Wing on a punt return into Giants territory.

Of course, we know the family ties between Eli, New Orleans, and the Saints organization. Obviously, Eli’s father, Archie, played for the Saints. Drew Brees’ son attends the same high school as Eli (plus brothers Peyton and Cooper, in addition to Beckham, Jr.) and even joked he would root for Eli over his dad. There’s no shortage of storylines – one of which being this could be the last time we see Brees battle Eli.

This year, the Giants made many moves to improve their defense, but even with the new defensive weapons, history dictates the contest should be a shootout; the winning team has scored more than 47 points the past four head-to-head matchups.
