Boston College Eagles patrolman Justin Simmons, Vonn Bell’s backfield mate Titus Powell, Central Michigan’s in-the-box bruiser Kavon Frazier. All were mentioned as possibilities on Day 3. Instead, Big Blue gets one on Day 2 in the third round.
Even though Boise State broncos safety Darian Thompson was known for being a ball-hawk in college, he didn’t test well at the scouting combine and couldn’t perform at his school’s Pro Day. Yet, early indications from rookie mini-camp point to Thompson being a vocal leader, something we haven’t seen since Antrel Rolle.

Whether these six picks know it or not, they might have the most pressure on them then any other draft class in Giants history. And, if they all pan out, one has to wonder where this eye for talent has been over Reese’s nine years in charge. All it took was Tom Coughlin’s firing and some subtle messaging from ownership.
