Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News wrote that Perkins won’t have much an impact this year, but could see more touches down the road. Big Blue View called Perkins “the steal of the draft” and reported that Paul “shows up and gets work done“.

Bruins Nation blogger Joe Piechowski said Perkins has “ludicrous value” and is an “under the radar” guy. NFL.com Writer Alex Gelhar wrote that “in the right role”, Perkins “could be a fantasy sleeper“. Anthony Sciaratta of the Inquisitr thinks Perkins could emerge as a “major contributor”.

Here’s what Chase Goodbread wrote of Perkins in his rankings:

"“84. RB Paul Perkins, New York Giants: GM Jerry Reese added a productive rusher with dazzling open-field ability here, albeit a relatively small one (5-foot-10, 208 pounds).”"

That tale of the tape might look familiar, prompting some to call Perkins “Tiki Barber 2.0”. As long as Paul doesn’t have a fumbling problem or disparages his teammates, Giants fans should look forward to a lucrative career. We’re probably seeing the last of the running back by committee approach.

Just like Adams, Perkins could’ve easily gone in the third round, so to fall to the Giants in the fifth has to renew faith in Jerry Reese’s eye for talent. Now, Perk just has to reward him for his decision.
