These five players are most valuable to the success of the 2016 New York Giants, and any hope of their first playoff berth since 2011 begins and ends with their performance on the field.

The last time Big Blue was in the NFL Playoffs, they came away with the Lombardi trophy, but that was nearly five seasons ago.  At the end of the 2015 season, beloved coach Tom Coughlin stepped down after consecutive 6-10 campaigns and replaced by offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo.

Another year without a playoff berth for the Giants could also spell the end of general manager Jerry Reese’s tenure.

He’s, wisely, doubled down, handing out over $200 million in contracts during the 2016 off-season.  Ultimately, it will be up to the talent to gel on the field and produce results.  Some obvious, some not so much, five Giants in particular are as valuable to the team’s success, and Reese’s job security, as any.
