The 2-0 New York Giants continue to ascend in the NFL Power Rankings.

How about those undefeated New York Giants? They’re 2-0 for the first time in seven years after a strong defensive effort against the New Orleans Saints.

It’s only two games and can still come crashing down at some point, but forgive fans for basking in their early success after a few disappointing years. They checked in at number 15 in the NFL Power Rankings after beating the Cowboys last week, and they’ve moved up even further in Week 3. Check out the latest rankings below:

NFL:

“What happened to Barnburner 2.0? Less than a year after the Giants and Saints tallied 13 offensive touchdowns in New Orleans, they combined for one Sunday at the Meadowlands. The key score came on special teams, courtesy of the Giants’ most important free agency acquisition. On the subject of Janoris Jenkins, he and his secondary mates did a heckuva job on Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead, helping to hold the Saints’ powerful offense to a paltry 3-for-13 on third down. Hey, Big Blue is 2-0.”. . Previous: 15th. New York Giants. 13. team. 31

FOX:

31. “The Giants have been a pleasant surprise through two weeks, remaining undefeated after wins over the Cowboys and Saints. The defense was upgraded in the offseason and it has showed thus far, allowing just 32 points in two games. If this kind of play continues, the Giants will finish on top in the NFC East.”. . Previous: 13th. New York Giants. 11. team

ESPN:

New York Giants. 12. team. 31. “The Giants were 1-5 in games decided by three or fewer points last season. They are 2-0 in such games this season. They aren’t pulling away from teams, but wins are wins. The winless Redskins provide another chance for victory in Week 3.”. . Previous: 16th

The offense hasn’t hit its stride yet either. If the defense can continue to play at a high level while Odell Beckham and company catch up, Big Blue is an early NFC East Favorite.

The Washington Redskins (0-2) visit East Rutherford next week. Throw out the win-loss records, NFC East teams usually play each other tough. Expect OBJ versus Josh Norman II to raise the stakes.
