The New York Giants (2-2) may have to reverse their losing streak by mending the Giants’ secondary. Trading can help compensate for early injuries to starting secondary players.

The Giants have been rumored to allow free agents into training camp. This comes prior to last night’s 24-10 loss against the Minnesota Vikings.

To beginDonte WhitnerWill AllenShamiel Gary and Jeron Johnson are the first on the Giants’ list.

In fact, a host of Giants secondary players suffered from serious injuries early in the season, per Ralph Vacciano of SNY.

"The Giants are reeling at safety with rookie starter Darian Thompson…Nat Berhe is unable to play Monday night due to a concussion."

Certainly, Monday Night’s loss against the Vikings provides enough evidence to proceed with new signings.

As “disappointing” the Giants were yesterday evening, the “wait-and-see” approach harms more than it helps. Fine tuning has to be done right this instant.

Further, the value of a non-porous defense obviously would reduce the media focus on Eli Manning. Then, Manning could be patient and take advantage of his all-star cast of wide receivers and running backs performing above expectations.

In times of desperation, repeating the same game plan leads to insanity. The Giants need to exploit Sterling Sheppard and Victor Cruz.  They can then tactically use the running game.

Missed tackles, turnovers caused by fumbles or interceptions and dropped punt returns haunt the Giants. Mending these faults racks the brain of Giants’ coaching.

Ultimately, an end to this disarray will occur if the right trades and acquisitions are made before it’s too late.
