Former New York Giants defensive player in the 1990’s, Lorenzo Freeman was reported to have died this morning after failing to report to Plum High School, where he served as an assistant head coach to the defensive line of the school football team.

Based on local sources reported earlier this morning, Freeman had strong ties to the New Jersey area. He grouted nearby his home in New Jersey and chose to return to play his final season with the Giants after signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1985.

More information on the Giants organizations plans for honoring this Giant are expected to be released in the coming hours. For now, we remember Freeman the man and player who could play through any type of weather conditions and against any opponent no matter how great.

Ceremonies to remember Freeman are scheduled to take place this week according to relatives’ wishes.
