Joe from Brooklyn: Top 15 reasons McAdoo should be worried about job security with Giants
Have the Giants really changed their ways offensively and defensively?
First, McAdoo allowed the New York Giants two win twice and then allow players to fall into their bad habits in Weeks three through five.
It was terrible to watch as the rival Redskins, Vikings and Packers made in roads into the Giants lead. Most of the time the Giants were trailing and had to prove to fans that they could win the game. And most of the time, they could not. As fellows of this site have reported, the Giants looked inept, unfit, unprepared, shaky and mortal.
The offense seemed to shy away from converting first downs against defenses that had higher rankings. Tis was most prominent in the game against Minnesota when Eli threw short passes to his wide receivers for incomplete passes or small gains leading to a premature send off of the special teams punter. Defensively, the Giants could not overcome injuries and allowed Kirk Cousins in week three to connect with his wideouts to tally 27 points for the victory.
