Dallas Cowboys fans inevitably trolled the New York Giants following the 38-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Justin Pugh got his revenge.

The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys have officially met identical fates. After both teams put together regular seasons that rank amongst the best in the organizations’ respective histories, both failed to overcome Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

Just one week after New York fell to Green Bay at Lambeau Field, the Cowboys lost to the Packers at Jerry World.

Though both teams lost to the same opponent, Cowboys fans inevitably ridiculed the Giants for losing in the Wild Card Round. Call it fate or fairness, but giants fans now have an opportunity to return the favor.

Following the Cowboys’ 34-31 loss to the Packers, star Giants offensive lineman Justin Pugh took to Twitter to return the favor to the Dallas fans who trolled him.

Cowboys and Giants fans can now watch the playoffs from the same couch.

New York defeated Dallas in both of the games the two rivals played in 2016. That includes a heart-racing 20-19 victory during Week 1, which was decided by a clutch touchdown throw from Eli Manning to rookie Sterling Shepard.

The Giants defeated the Cowboys during Week 14, as well, with a 10-9 win that was decided by the defense and Odell Beckham Jr.’s awe-inspiring 61-yard touchdown pass.

Those victories will stand as the definition of the Giants-Cowboys rivalry during the 2016 NFL season.

Dallas finished 13-3 and won the division, but New York had a resurgent season that will live on in Giants fans’ memories. It won 11 games for the first time since 2005 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Pugh and the Giants will be back in 2017 with a chance to not only silence critics, but continue the winning streak over the Cowboys.
