Anquan Boldin

Age: 36 (10/3/1980)
Experience: 14 Seasons
2016 Season Statistics: 16 GP, 67 REC, 584 YDS, 8 TD, 41 FD

Anquan Boldin may not be one of the Top 5 wide receivers on the market, but he’s a player whom the New York Giants should seriously consider. Even at 36 years of age, his leadership in the locker room and clutch heroics create appeal for a Giants team in need of a quality No. 2 outside wide receiver.

A master at making plays in the red zone, Boldin would be a low-cost veteran addition who could help mentor the younger receivers.

Boldin is a former Super Bowl champion and the 2015 winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. During his Hall of Fame career, he’s recorded upwards of 1,000 receptions, 13,000 receiving yards, and 82 receiving touchdowns.

With a proven track record as both a leader and a big-game performer, Boldin would be the perfect complement to rising stars in Beckham and Shepard.

The upside with Boldin is that he’d likely be willing to sign for an affordable cost. He made less than $3 million during the 2016 NFL season and rewarded the Detroit Lions’ investment with 16 games played and eight touchdowns.

There’s no such thing as a risk-free move in free agency, but Boldin would be an ideal fit with the Giants on multiple levels.
