Giants Rumors: Pros, Cons Of Targeting Jamaal Charles In Free Agency
The Kansas City Chiefs have parted ways with running back Jamaal Charles. Should the New York Giants sign the four-time Pro Bowler?
The New York Giants have a void to fill at running back and a multitude of options. Between the 2017 NFL Draft and free agency, Jerry Reese will be tasked with evaluating a number of alluring prospects.
On Tuesday, Feb. 28, a new option presented itself on the free agency front in the form of 2013 touchdowns leader Jamaal Charles.
Charles was a third-round draft pick in 2008, but has exceeded expectations at every step. He’s a four-time Pro Bowler with three All-Pro selections and five 1,000-yard rushing seasons during his exceptional career.
Charles will now be a free agent after the Chiefs shockingly announced that his time with Kansas City had come to an end.
That creates quite the intriguing opportunity for the Giants.
Charles may or may not be the answer, but he’s someone whom Jerry Reese should consider to fill the void New York finished the 2016 NFL regular season ranked No. 29 in rushing yards, No. 30 in yards per carry, and No. 32 in rushing touchdowns, and recently released starting running back Rashad Jennings.
The question is: what would the pros and cons be of the New York Giants signing Jamaal Charles?
