The New York Giants met with three of the top offensive linemen in this draft class at the NFL Combine: Garrett Bolles, Ryan Ramczyk, and Cam Robinson.

After years of struggling to protect Eli Manning, the New York Giants are making a concerted effort to improve the offensive line. With Justin Pugh and Weston Richburg anchoring the interior, Jerry Reese is exploring his options at offensive tackle.

At the NFL Draft Combine, the Giants formally interviewed three prospects who could potentially start for New York in 2017.

Beyond Pugh and Richburg, the Giants’ offensive line is in shambles. Ereck Flowers has struggled at left tackle, which has inevitably resulted in Reese searching for either a complement at right tackle or a replacement on the left side.

According to Pat Leonard of The New York Daily News, the Giants made progress towards filling those voids by meeting with three of the top offensive linemen in this draft class: Garett Bolles, Ryan Ramczyk, and Cam Robinson.

"Plus the Giants have formally interviewed all three of the top projected offensive tackles in the draft: Wisconsin’s Ryan Ramczyk (6-6, 314), Alabama’s Cam Robinson (6-6, 326) and Utah’s Garett Bolles (6-5, 300)."

That’s an encouraging sign for a team in need of improvement along the offensive line.

Bolles is a 6’5″ and 300-pound tackle with elite athleticism and a mean streak that’s winning coaches, scouts, and executives over at the Combine. He’ll be 25 years of age at the start of training camp, which could alienate some of his potential suitors, but the upside is present.

If the Giants are looking for a bruising tackle who’s going to finish plays, then Bolles could be the perfect addition.

Ramczyk is the latest in the long line of Wisconsin Badgers linemen to make the jump to the NFL. Standing at 6’6″ and 314 pounds, he’s a physically overwhelming prospect who has the IQ and athleticism to start at the next level.

Battle tested and respected by many around the country, Ramczyk has experience in a pro-style offense and the versatility to start at multiple positions.

Robinson is the upside player in this class of offensive tackles. He has prototypical physical gifts, but a questioned motor.

All things considered, he’s essentially the Flowers of this year’s draft class as a player who has the tools to dominate, but has a track record to be skeptical of.
