The New York Giants have a number of critical tasks on the offseason agenda. What must the Giants do to make the most of the offseason?

Last year, the New York Giants propelled themselves into contender status with an aggressive and expensive free agency haul. In 2017, there are still plenty of positions to fill on the roster.

This free agency period, the Giants focus should be on getting value at a few positions, then addressing what’s left through the draft.

With Jason Pierre-Paul receiving the franchise tag, the Giants don’t have too much financial flexibility heading into free agency. The beauty of free agency is not only getting to make your own decisions on a player’s value, but having the draft as a backup plan in case you miss out on a position of need.

In this exercise, I’m playing general manager. I get to make five moves that I believe will take Big Blue to the promised land.

The first move is of immense importance and the only way to make the other moves happen.
