The New York Giants have made a power move in free agency. Here are five reasons to love the signing of wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

The New York Giants have made an early splash in the 2016 NFL offseason. With a need to replace veteran wide receiver Victor Cruz, Jerry Reese secured an agreement from one of the biggest names in the NFL.

According to Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday, the Giants have agreed to terms with wide receiver Brandon Marshall on a two-year deal worth $12 million.

"After wearing green and white the past two seasons, Marshall has agreed to terms on a two-year, $12 million deal to join Eli Manning and the Giants, sources told Newsday."

Adam Schefter of ESPN has since confirmed the report.

Though there’s an expected division between those who support the deal and those who remain skeptical of it, there are multiple reasons to love this signing.

Marshall spent the previous two seasons with the New York Jets. During that time, he amassed 168 receptions, 2,290 yards, and 17 touchdowns in 31 games played.

Reese’s decision to acquire Marshall is a sign that he remains confident in the veteran’s ability to produce at a high level.

Marshall will turn 33 years of age before the 2017 NFL regular season, but is widely regarded as one of the most well-conditioned players at his position. He’s produced at a borderline Hall of Fame level and has a chance to solidify that resume with the Giants.

The question is: why should New York Giants fans love the organization’s decision to acquire wide receiver Brandon Marshall?
