The New York Giants have re-signed defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. Why should you be excited to see Pierre-Paul back with the Giants?
The New York Giants have been one of the busiest teams in the NFL during the 2017 period of free agency. Between the creation of depth along the offensive line, the acquisition of a star-caliber wide receiver, and the gains and losses on defense, New York is actively pursuing a brighter future.
Perhaps the most significant move of the offseason was made when the Giants decided to bring Jason Pierre-Paul back to New York.
The Jason Pierre-Paul saga has been nothing short of bizarre. After Jordan Raanan of ESPN’s NFL Nation reported that that Pierre-Paul had signed a four-year deal, but the 28-year-old shot down the report as nonsensical.
For those who missed it:
What the heck is people talking about I ain't sign nothing.

He proceeded to bash the New York media for reporting what was later confirmed as a true report:
That's New York media for yah!! They always want the story first and they got it wrong.

Mere hours later, Pierre-Paul confirmed that he’s officially re-signed with the Giants.

In other words: the New York media didn’t get it wrong.
Confusing as the saga may have been, the Giants will benefit from bringing Pierre-Paul back. He’s a Top 15 player at his position, as well as a returning star who knows what it means to be a member of the organization.
The question is: what are the benefits of Jason Pierre-Paul re-signing with the New York Giants?
