5. Physical Profile

It takes just one look at Jerod Evans to realize what makes him such an intriguing prospect. The former Virginia Tech Hokies quarterback is one of the most physically imposing quarterbacks in this draft class, if not the country.

If the New York Giants are looking for a player who can stand in the pocket and be as durable as Eli Manning, Evans could be an ideal target—knee injury accounted for.

Evans is a 6’3″ & 232-pound force of nature who can use his body as a strength at the quarterback position. He can take a beating in the pocket, withstand sack attempts, and make throws under pressure.

Every quarterback has talent, but only a select few are built the way that Evans is—and that’s something every general manager should be intrigued by.

For a player his size, Evans has the combination of speed and strength to make an impact in the running game. He’s not necessarily going to run before he passes, which makes his physical profile even more intriguing.

Players with size, strength, and athleticism are almost always heralded by scouts and executives, and Evans should be no exception to the rule.
