1. Big Game Player

The most appealing aspect of Dalvin Cook’s resume is how well he’s performed on the grandest of stages. With rare exceptions to the rule, Cook has made it a point to step up and dominate when the Florida State Seminoles were playing the most important games of the year.

Not everyone is built for the spotlight, but during his three seasons at Florida State, Cook’s unofficial career mantra seemed to be: “The bigger the stage, the better I play.”

As a freshman, Cook ran for 103 yards on 15 carries during the Rose Bowl and amassed 220 total yards and a touchdown during the ACC Championship Game. As a junior, he recorded 207 yards from scrimmage and a rushing touchdown during the Orange Bowl, thus winning the MVP award.

Cook also amassed 588 yards and six touchdowns in three rivalry games against the Miami Hurricanes, as well as 545 yards and three touchdowns in three games against the Florida Gators.

Against the Clemson Tigers, which made back-to-back National Championship Game appearances, Cook ran for 194 yards and a touchdown in 2015, and 169 yards and four touchdowns in 2016. That’s the icing on this proverbial cake.

General manager Jerry Reese covets players who step up during big games, and of the running backs in the 2017 NFL Draft, no one has been more reliable in such settings than Cook.

If Dalvin Cook is somehow available at No. 23 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, then the New York Giants should make it a point to select him.
