As the 2017 NFL Draft nears, every expert has an opinion as to whom the 32 teams should be targeting. In the case of the New York Giants, the well-documented desire for the best player available has birthed an intriguing crop of options.

In a recent mock draft, NFL Draft expert Todd McShay of ESPN outlined whom he believes the Giants should take at No. 23 overall: Malik McDowell.

For those unfamiliar, McDowell played defensive tackle for Mike Dantonio’s Michigan State Spartans. During that time, he helped Michigan State develop into one of the best defensive teams in the country.

Playing in a physical Big Ten conference, the star interior lineman flashed the potential for legitimate dominance at the next level.
