With the 2017 NFL draft already started upon us, let’s scour the rankings for the top three running backs the New York Giants could make a run at.

Paul Perkins is set to be the early-down back for the New York Giants in 2017, but the offense is missing one vital piece: a powerful, bulldozing, bully type of rusher.

Reports of LeGarrette Blount being an option at running back have surfaced as of late. As I stated in my Blount article, his addition could push Perkins back on the depth chart since Shane Vereen would be handling third-down and pass-play duties.

It could potentially limit the development and production of Perkins, who flashed serious elusiveness and agility last season.

Personally, I like the kid. He’s smart and can hold his own out there against NFL-caliber players. What he needs is someone to complement him, not replace him.
