The New York Giants revealed which numbers the incoming rookies will be wearing in 2017. Whose jersey are you planning to purchase?
The New York Giants are preparing for a new era. Eli Manning is being surrounded by young and promising weapons, and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has a young and explosive unit that yielded elite results in 2016.
The arrival of the new era neared when the Giants took to social media to announce the jersey numbers that the new generation will be wearing in 2017.
The reveal of the newest Giants’ jersey numbers is a significant event for all involved. Fans can informatively purchase the jerseys of their new favorite players, and the organization can reveal just how high they are on players by allowing them to wear numbers of historical significance.
In a post to the official New York Giants Twitter account, the team revealed the jersey numbers that the incoming rookies will be wearing in 2017.

The dawn of a new era is on the horizon.
Rookie tight end Evan Engram will wear No. 88, which was previously worn by wide receivers Ike Hilliard and Hakeem Nicks. Both leave big shoes to fill. Hilliard recorded 368 receptions for 4,630 yards and 27 touchdowns in New York, while Nicks had 318 receptions for 4,676 yards and 27 scores.
If Engram can produce in a similar manner to Hilliard and Nicks, he’ll do the No. 88 jersey proud. He’d effectively revitalize the Giants’ sputtering offense, as well.
On defense, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson will wear the No. 94 jersey previously donned by Mathias Kiwanuka. Avery Moss will line up next to him with the No. 91 uniform, which creates inevitably high expectations.
Fan favorite and franchise legend Justin Tuck wore the No. 91 jersey while helping New York win a pair of Super Bowls.
Back on offense, quarterback Davis Webb will wear No. 5—a change from the No. 7 jersey he wore at California. Running back Wayne Gallman will wear No. 30, which was previously donned by Dave Meggett, who was twice an All-Pro and once a Super Bowl champion in New York.
Last but not least, offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty will wear the No. 66 jersey that two-time Super Bowl champions William Roberts and David Diehl—different eras—made famous.
